Doula Support
What doula care looks like before, during, and after birth
As your doula, my role is to offer steady, personalized support wherever and however you choose to give birth.
What does a doula do?
I provide emotional, physical, and informational support during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum.
My goal is to help you stay calm, informed, and grounded while you make decisions that feel right for your birth.
When do you join me in labor?
I join you when labor becomes active and you’re ready for hands-on support.
We stay in close contact during early labor, and once things are progressing, I come to you within about two hours.
Do you support hospital, birth center, and home births?
Yes — my support is available in all birth settings. My role is to help you feel steady and informed wherever you choose to give birth.
Will you support me if I need or choose medical pain relief?
Absolutely. My role is not to promote a specific kind of birth — it’s to support your choices with respect, skill, and steady presence.

Prenatal Appointments
What to expect and how we schedule your visits
Prenatal appointments give us time to prepare, ask questions, and build confidence long before labor begins.
How many prenatal appointments are included?
Two prenatal appointments are included in your Birth Bundle.
Do we schedule both prenatal appointments separately?
It depends on your class type:
Private 6-week class:
Both prenatal appointments are woven into your course.
Private 1-day class:
One prenatal is integrated into class time and one is schedule separately.
Group classes:
Both prenatal appointments are scheduled individually.
What happens during prenatal appointments?
We cover:
Your birth preferences
What to expect in labor
Comfort measures and coping tools
Partner support
Communication with your care provider
Preparing your home, birth center, or hospital environment

Communication and Availability
How to reach me and when I’m on-call
You can contact me anytime in early labor so we can assess what’s happening together.
How do we stay in touch during pregnancy?
You have unlimited access to me through text, phone, and email. I’m here for questions, updates, and guidance throughout your pregnancy.
When does on-call availability begin?
Your on-call period begins at 38 weeks and continues through 42 weeks, once your remaining balance is completed by 37 weeks.
What if I go into labor before 38 weeks?
I will make every reasonable effort to attend, but attendance before your on-call window cannot be guaranteed.
Payments and Policies
Deposits, deadlines, and what your bundle includes
My goal is to make the financial side clear and simple, so you can focus fully on preparing for your birth.
How much is the deposit?
A non-refundable $650 deposit reserves your place on my calendar and holds your due window.
When is the remaining balance due?
By 37 weeks to secure your on-call window from 38–42 weeks.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes — I’m happy to discuss options. Any alternative payment schedule must be agreed upon in writing before 37 weeks.
Is anything refundable?
Doula fees are non-refundable, because your payment reserves your due window and availability.
What if my labor is very long?
If I have been supporting you for 12+ hours, I may rest briefly or bring in a trusted backup doula. This ensures safe, steady support for your entire birth.

Birth Classes
Private, group, and intensive options
My birth classes offer evidence-based education and practical skills, taught in a calm and supportive environment.
What’s the difference between the 6-week and 1-day classes?
6-week course: Comprehensive, paced learning that includes your course journal.
1-day intensive: Condensed, focused education in a single session. Both options include your online infant feeding course.
Can I take a class without hiring you as my doula?
Yes — classes are available on their own and can later be applied toward a Birth Bundle if you choose to add doula support.
Where are classes held?
Private classes are held in your home. Group classes are offered in Denton and surrounding areas.
Do the classes include my partner?
Yes — partners are welcome and encouraged to attend. Classes are designed with both of you in mind.
Early Labor and Birth
When to reach out and what to expect
Early labor can take time. Here’s when to reach out and how to know when things are shifting into active labor.
When should I contact you in early labor?
Reach out when:
Contractions become regular
You’re unsure about what’s happening
You need reassurance
You feel things shifting
We stay in touch long before I arrive in person.
How do I know when it’s active labor?
A helpful guideline is the 5-1-1 rule:
Contractions every 5 minutes
Lasting 1 minute
Continuing for 1 hour
This is often a good indicator that labor is active and it’s time for hands-on support.
Do you support induction or cesarean births?
Yes — I support all pathways, including induction and planned or unplanned cesarean births.

Postpartum Support
What support looks like after your baby arrives
After birth, I offer practical and emotional support to help you feel cared for and confident in the early days.
What is included in postpartum support?
I stay with you up to two hours after birth to support early feeding, bonding, and the immediate postpartum transition.
A postpartum visit is typically scheduled within two weeks to check in emotionally, physically, and practically. This visit gives you space to reflect on your birth, ask questions, and receive guidance as you settle in at home.
